What We’re Looking For We’re looking for a brilliant Strategy Director to join us on an initial 12-month maternity cover, but this isn’t a filler role. Fabric’s growing fast, the strategy team’s expanding, and there’s a real chance this could go permanent. You live and breathe social. You know how brands actually create value on platforms and how to turn that into work that people notice, care about, and talk about. You get under the skin of briefs, find the real problem, and build simple, sharp strategies that deliver impact. You’re as comfortable zooming out to set a bold brand direction as you are zooming in to craft platform-native ideas that land. Key Responsibilities • Lead world-class strategy across audience and market insights, content strategy, goal-setting, KPIs, measurement, reporting, and optimisation, always ensuring work ladders up to business impact., • Spot the next big thing before it hits mainstream: combine sharp trend-spotting, platform fluency, and cultural intelligence to develop strategies that put brands where conversations happen first., • Drive new business by playing a central role in pitches and creds, building strategic responses to briefs, collaborating with the senior team, and presenting confidently to clients., • Fuel growth for existing clients by working with the accounts team to identify proactive opportunities, demonstrating the commercial value of social, and unlocking bigger budgets and deeper partnerships., • Work across markets and global regions, shaping strategies that flex for different cultural contexts while staying true to a unifying brand vision., • Experience turning quant + qual research into actionable insights, using them to unlock fresh angles and unexpected opportunities., • Collaborate with the creative, design, and production teams to develop powerful creative briefs that inspire bold, industry-leading work., • Build frameworks and playbooks that bring rigour to our thinking and help scale best practice across the agency., • Understand how paid, owned, earned, influencer, and creator strategies work together, and build integrated plans that get the best out of every channel., • Lead internal education and external thought leadership: run workshops, train teams, and share best practice to make sure Fabric sets the standard for social strategy., • Keep Fabric ahead of the curve by staying on top of platform evolutions, creator economy shifts, emerging behaviours, and new tools. Produce thought-leadership pieces and represent the agency at industry events., • Lead and grow the strategy team, coaching, mentoring, and creating the conditions for brilliant strategic thinking to thrive. Must Haves • A proven track record of delivering social strategies that drive measurable brand and business impact., • Deep understanding of social platforms, behaviours, and ecosystems, and the persuasive ability to explain their value across sectors and markets., • Sharp trend-spotting instincts and cultural fluency: you know what’s next before it hits the mainstream and can translate that into strategies that cut through., • Strong experience working on multi-market strategies and global brands, with an ability to flex approach while staying aligned to a unifying vision., • Commercial acumen: confident in demonstrating the value of social and unlocking revenue opportunities through strategic thinking., • Excellent knowledge of native channel analytics, social measurement, and performance optimisation., • Proven experience shaping pitches and business development strategy, with a track record of helping agencies win and grow accounts., • Familiarity with strategic frameworks and analytical tools, and the ability to adapt them creatively rather than apply them formulaically., • Understanding of paid social and amplification strategies and how they integrate into wider brand-building plans., • Experience building joined-up strategies where paid, organic, and influencer activity work together to deliver bigger outcomes., • A collaborative approach, with a strong track record of partnering effectively with creative, production, and client teams., • Excellent deck-writing and presentation skills: able to make complex strategy compelling, simple, and persuasive., • Experience leading and nurturing a high-performing strategy team, empowering them to deliver their best work.
