Fibre Up Cabling Field Operative – Underground Cable Installation Location: London-based (Seven Kings, Enfield), with projects expanding over the next 5 years to areas including Southend and Ipswich Hours: 48 hours per week (overtime/weekends may be required) About the Role We are representing a leading telecoms provider and are seeking Fibre Up Cabling Field Operatives to join their expanding infrastructure projects. You will carry out the installation of underground cabling and fibre optic networks, following existing infrastructure routes to support broadband and fibre network delivery. The role involves rodding & roping, cable pulling, and fibre blowing, ensuring all work meets safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities • Rod and rope existing duct networks to prepare for cabling, • Pull, route, and secure underground cables through ducts and chambers, • Assist with fibre blowing installation within underground networks, • Complete risk assessments, permits, and job documentation digitally, • Experience in underground telecoms, utilities, or civils works, • Knowledge of cable pulling and fibre blowing techniques, • Ability to read and interpret job packs, drawings, and plans, • Experience in fibre or coaxial cable installation within duct networks, • Understanding of FTTP/HFC network build infrastructure, • Experience working in public highways under permit conditions Essential: NRSWA Units 1 & 2 (Signing, Lighting & Guarding) SA002 (Underground Safety Awareness) SA005 (Manual Handling) Beneficial: Confined Space Training (Medium/High Risk) First Aid Asbestos Awareness Health & Safety Responsibilities Carry out dynamic site-specific risk assessments before work Ensure compliance with permit and street works regulations Maintain safe working practices at all times Use appropriate PPE and traffic management systems Protect existing utilities and infrastructure Personal Attributes • Strong awareness of safety in high-risk underground environments, • IT competent for digital reporting, • Reliable, able to work independently or as part of a team, • Strong attention to detail, especially in reporting, • Full-time, 48 hours per week, • Overtime and weekend work may be required, • Early starts/out-of-hours work due to highway permits and traffic management, • Company vehicle and fuel card, • Tools and PPE provided, • Ongoing training and certification support, • Pension scheme We endeavour to reply to every candidate, every time but if you haven’t heard back within 10 days, please understand that you have unfortunately been unsuccessful for this position, or the position has been filled.
