Business Development Manager (Residential Energy Storage)

Our client is seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead market growth within its residential energy storage division in the UK. This role focuses on developing strong installer partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, building brand credibility in energy storage, and driving adoption of hybrid inverter and battery products across residential and light commercial segments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the UK solar and storage landscape, technical aptitude in energy storage solutions, and a proven track record in solution-based sales or partner development. Responsibilities • Identify, target, and onboard high-potential solar installers, distributors, and EPCs., • Execute go-to-market strategies and achieve regional sales targets for energy storage products., • Deliver product presentations and proposals to drive conversions., • Structure and manage installer partner programs, including incentives, lead distribution, and performance tracking., • Act as a representative for the energy division in the field, attending trade shows, installer events, and technical roadshows., • Gather and relay market feedback to internal teams (e.g., product, R&D, support) to improve offerings and customer experience., • Collaborate with marketing to tailor campaigns, webinars, and educational content., • Work closely with technical support and operations to ensure partners receive high-quality pre- and post-sales service., • Assist partners during early installations and site assessments to build confidence in products., • Proactively manage the sales pipeline, close deals, and support customers through onboarding., • Provide regular updates on sales performance, pipeline development, competitor activity, and market trends., • Collaborate with leadership on sales forecasts, pricing insights, and channel strategy. Requirements • Experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally within solar, battery storage, or electrical products., • Strong understanding of residential energy storage solutions and key inverter/battery competitors., • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to installers and end users., • Experience using CRM systems and pipeline management tools., • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills., • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and travel as required., • Background in electrical or renewable energy (formal qualification or field experience)., • Experience launching new products or building brands in emerging markets., • Established network within the UK solar installer ecosystem., • Familiarity with rebate schemes, virtual power plants (VPPs), and regional energy storage trends.
