About the Role In order to cope with our expansion, we are now looking for high caliber candidates to join our Bermuda team as a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). The role is responsible for implementing and overseeing a company's anti-money laundering (AML) compliance program. The role will ensure a company's compliance with AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering/Countering Financing of Terrorism) laws, primarily by overseeing internal controls, assessing suspicious activities, and reporting them externally to the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), acting as the key link with regulators, handling CDD/EDD, and managing the firm's overall AML program and training. Responsibilities • To act as the principal liaison and point of contact for the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) and other relevant regulatory bodies on all Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) matters., • To develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive, risk-based AML/CFT and sanctions compliance program, encompassing all requisite policies, procedures, and controls tailored to the specific risks of the digital asset industry., • To conduct regular enterprise-wide risk assessments to identify, assess, and mitigate money laundering and terrorist financing risks, and to oversee the ongoing monitoring of all business relationships and transactions., • To manage the end-to-end suspicious activity reporting (SAR) process and to prepare and present regular reports on the compliance program’s effectiveness to Senior Management and the Board of Directors., • To represent the company authoritatively in all engagements with regulators, law enforcement, and relevant industry bodies (including, but not limited to, the Bermuda Gaming Commission and the National Anti-Money Laundering Committee)., • To design and deliver targeted AML/CFT training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring a sustained and robust culture of compliance throughout the organization., • To provide expert, actionable advice to the business on the ML/FT risks associated with new products, services, and strategic initiatives prior to their launch or implementation. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field., • 10+ years of experience in a senior compliance role with a focus on AML/CFT and sanctions, preferably within financial services, gaming, or digital assets., • Direct experience acting as a designated MLRO for a regulated entity, with proven experience liaising with a financial regulator (e.g., BMA, FCA, FINTRAC)., • Deep knowledge of AML/CFT legislation and regulations., • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills., • Excellent communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills., • Integrity, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
