Fundraising & Operations Lead (Part-Time – Early-Stage MedTech) Location: Remote (UK-based preferred) Hours: 15–20 hours per week Contract Type: Part-time contract (potential to expand post-funding) Compensation: £30,000–£35,000 FTE equivalent (pro rata ~£1,600–£2,000/month) About the Company We are an early-stage medtech company developing a medical device entering regulatory and engineering refinement phase. The business is preparing for a £150k–£250k bridge round, followed by a £1.5m+ seed raise. We are seeking a commercially aware, highly organised operator to work directly with the Founder to build fundraising infrastructure, strengthen investor readiness, coordinate cross-functional workstreams, and implement operational structure during this critical capital phase. Role Overview This is a hands-on execution role focused on bridge fundraising readiness, commercial pathway development, grant coordination, and operational structure. You will ensure structure, alignment, and investor readiness across financial, technical, regulatory, governance, and commercial workstreams. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Infrastructure & Investor Readiness (Primary Priority) • Build and maintain a curated investor database, • Map warm introduction pathways, • Maintain CRM and outreach tracking, • Coordinate investor materials and data room, • Maintain and continuously update the business plan to reflect financial model changes, market research insights, and strategic developments, • Ensure pitch decks, executive summaries, and investor materials remain current, consistent, and capital-ready at all times, • Work alongside the financial modeller to ensure financial assumptions are accurately reflected across all documents, • Track fundraising KPIs and pipeline metrics, • Assist in organising and structuring historic company expenditure for reporting and investor transparency Market Research & Commercial Pathway Development • Conduct structured market research and competitor analysis, • Identify and map target clinics, private providers, and potential bulk purchasers, • Research NHS procurement pathways and commissioning structures, • Identify relevant government procurement or innovation purchasing frameworks that could enable early bulk purchase or pilot opportunities, • Develop structured list of potential pilot or pre-sale partners, • Support outreach planning for early adoption conversations, • Track commercial engagement pipeline Multi-Territory Market Preparation • Research regulatory and market entry considerations across priority territories, • Map key distribution and healthcare system structures in target regions, • Support development of territory-specific investor narrative where required Grant Identification & Submission • Identify relevant UK/EU and international grant opportunities, • Prepare and submit grant applications (with technical input from relevant stakeholders), • Coordinate required documentation and financial inputs, • Maintain structured grant pipeline calendar Cross-Functional Coordination • Act as coordination point between the Founder, financial modeller, product designers, app developers, and regulatory/cybersecurity advisors, • Ensure financial assumptions align with engineering and regulatory timelines, • Facilitate information flow across workstreams, • Track milestone progress and surface risks proactively Governance, IP & Compliance Readiness • Maintain structured documentation of patent/IP status and key timelines, • Support coordination with legal advisors on IP and contractual matters, • Assist in organising governance documentation and board reporting materials, • Ensure cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance documentation is organised for investor review Operational & Cost Implementation • Coordinate setup and management of business insurances, • Organise vendor contracts and service agreements, • Track operational costs against budget in coordination with the Founder and financial modeller, • Maintain version-controlled documentation across company workstreams Ideal Candidate • Proven experience supporting early-stage fundraising and investor engagement, • Experience creating and implementing operational processes in startup environments, • Strong financial literacy, including budgeting awareness and capital planning alignment, • Experience preparing or coordinating grant applications, • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills, • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g. Asana, Notion, Trello, ClickUp, etc.), • Comfortable working independently in a founder-led, fast-moving environment, • Strong organisational and systems-thinking capability Strongly preferred: • Experience in MedTech, healthcare, hardware, or regulated environments, • Familiarity with UK startup ecosystem and SEIS/EIS, • Exposure to NHS, healthcare procurement, or government funding pathways What Success Looks Like (First 60 Days) • Investor database and fundraising tracker operational, • Business plan fully aligned with financial model and continuously updated, • Investor pitch materials current and capital-ready, • At least one grant application submitted, • Structured commercial pathway map (clinics, NHS, government frameworks) developed, • Initial multi-territory market overview completed, • Data room organised and governance documentation structured, • Core business insurances and vendor agreements implemented, • Weekly cross-functional dashboard in place
