Department of Economics The Department of Economics is part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and has grown from a four-member Political Economy Group in 1966 to a vibrant team of 58 academics. The Role Besides contributions to the departments excellent education and impactful research, the role involves providing leadership to one of the departments research groups. Some colleagues contribute to multiple research groups, as well as to various Centres and Institutes within the University, including the Centre for Development Studies, Centre for 21st Century Public Health, Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change, Centre for Climate Adaptation and Environment Research, and the Institute for Policy Research. The position offers access to a wide pool of researchers and engagement with external partnerships, policy bodies, and research organisations, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and impact. About You You will be expected to demonstrate: - A sustained record of publications in internationally leading Economics journals (general interest as well as top field journals) together with evidence of impact through research funding and/or contracts. - Evidence of research leadership at both national and international levels. - The ability to provide leadership to one of our research groups. - A proven record of excellence in teaching and PhD supervision, including innovative teaching methods.
