Finance Operations Manager High-Growth PE Business | Manchester | Hybrid (2 days) £70,000 – £80,000 + benefits Confidential Search – via GTC Are you a Finance Operations leader who thrives in complexity, cares deeply about control, and knows how to build scalable processes that can withstand growth? We’re supporting a high-growth, PE-backed business on the search for a Finance Operations Manager to lead their transactional finance function, spanning payments, reconciliations, cash allocation, controls and operational integrity across a high-volume environment. This is a critical hire. With the business scaling fast and a major data transformation underway, Finance Operations sits right at the centre of cash, risk, customer trust and commercial performance. If you’re someone who can lead, improve, automate and strengthen a Finance Ops function end-to-end, this role offers both challenge and impact. The Role Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll: • Lead and develop the Finance Operations team across Payments, Reconciliations and Cash Allocation, • Own end-to-end reconciliation frameworks across bank accounts, premiums, refunds and suspense accounts, • Oversee high-volume payment runs with tight controls, dual approval and clear audit trails, • Strengthen the financial control environment and governance frameworks, • Play a key role in the month-end process, providing reconciliations, sign-offs and audit support, • Drive automation and continuous improvement using modern tools and rule-based reconciliation tech, • Work closely with Finance, Operations and Data teams to ensure accuracy of financial flows and integration What You’ll Bring • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or significant operational finance leadership experience, • Background in high-volume, complex reconciliation and payments, • Strong understanding of controls, governance, audit and risk, • Experience building or scaling Finance Ops teams in regulated or complex settings, • A continuous improvement mindset with confidence in systems and automation, • Strength in people leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration Why This Role? • Shape the Finance Operations function in a scaling PE-backed business, • Lead a team central to cash, control and commercial outcomes, • Genuine ownership, visibility and a chance to build something meaningful, • Real opportunity to improve automation, processes and operational rigour, • Hybrid working in Manchester with a forward-thinking leadership team If you’re motivated by structure, control, improvement and leadership and want to make a meaningful impact in a high-growth PE-backed business, let’s have a confidential conversation.
