Borough Market is looking for an experienced, confident and enthusiastic Restaurant Receptionist/Host to join our front-of-house team in the heart of one of London’s most iconic food destinations. Our brasserie-style seafood restaurant welcomes around 2,500 guests every week, with seating for 110 guests inside and 45 on our terrace. We're busy, fast-paced and friendly, combining professional service with a relaxed atmosphere. As our Host, you'll be at the centre of the action, managing reservations, coordinating tables and being one of the first friendly faces our guests meet. 🍽️ The Role You'll take ownership of the reception and reservations area, helping the restaurant run smoothly throughout service. Your responsibilities will include: • Warmly welcoming and seating our guests, • Managing online, telephone and walk-in reservations, • Coordinating the reservations book and maximising table availability, • Managing table allocations and turnover during busy services, • Organising and overseeing larger party reservations, • Responding professionally to guest enquiries in person, by phone and email, • Updating menus and completing daily administrative tasks, • Using Word, Excel and restaurant reservation systems like SevenRooms and Opentable, • Completing opening, closing and daily reception procedures, • Working closely with the management and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service ⭐ What We're Looking For This is an experienced position, so we're looking for someone who is already comfortable working in a busy, high-volume restaurant environment.
