Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage all hard services engineering across electrical, mechanical, and building services systems. * Take full responsibility for statutory compliance, ensuring all legal, safety, and regulatory obligations are met at all times. * Plan, manage, and deliver a comprehensive PPM programme, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. * Oversee and coordinate reactive maintenance, responding promptly to technical issues to minimise disruption. * Maintain accurate and auditable compliance documentation, including permits, certifications, and statutory records. * Prepare and review technical reports, maintenance schedules, and performance data. * Attend and contribute to client and stakeholder meetings, providing clear updates on building performance, risk, and compliance status. * Promote a strong health & safety culture across the site and engineering team. Essential Experience & Knowledge • Extensive experience within Building Services / Hard FM environments. * Strong technical background in an engineering discipline (electrical or mechanical preferred). * Demonstrable experience managing statutory compliance within large commercial or public-sector buildings. * Solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation, safe systems of work, and risk management. * Proven experience managing PPM schedules and reactive maintenance workflows. * Confident leader with experience managing engineers and external contractors. Hampton Court Palace’s world-famous gardens include 60 acres of spectacular formal gardens and 750 acres (304 hectares) of parkland, all set within a loop of the River Thames. Our gardens are home to the world's oldest puzzle maze, a record-breaking grape vine, three National Plant Collections, and over one million flowering bulbs in the Wilderness. The role of Gardener is to provide a high standard of horticultural maintenance in the gardens and landscapes belonging to HRP. This includes maintaining a safe working environment, engaging with visitors and helping or guiding others in the team when required. A Gardener for HRP would have an interest in historic gardens and be dedicated to their sympathetic upkeep and interpretation to the wider public, delivering a customer service in keeping with our royal standard at all times. We are looking for someone with creative flair and an eye for detail to work primarily in our formal ‘South’ gardens. They should have knowledge of a wide range of plants, formal garden features and other planting styles, experience using a range of horticultural machinery and equipment, always prioritising safe working practices. In addition, they should be confident working independently or as a team and have experience of this ideally within a public garden. An interest in sustainable gardening in a historic setting is desirable. In addition to demonstrable professional horticultural gardening experience, you will also hold a recognised horticultural qualification at RHS Level 2 or equivalent. A NPTC spraying certificate and driver’s licence are both desirable but not essential. Ignite Recruitment are looking for Gardeners to work for local authority in North London. Previous experience in park management, gardening or landscape gardening is essential. Driving Licennce is essential for the Lead Gardeneres. Ideally you will know how to use a ride on mower, operate a strimmer and leaf blower and have worked with hedge cutters in the past. The ability to identify plants is a must . You will need your own steel toe capped boots, be punctual, diligent, hard working and very much a team player. You will be able to identify your relevant experience with work references and demonstrate those abilities on the first day of induction. The role is temporary with an option to go permanent if you prove yourself to be hardworking and adding value to the existing Parks Maintenance team. Hours are 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3pm on a Friday with one hour for lunch. The role is varied and will involve: Leaf blowing, mowing grass, strimming long meadows and vegetation, litter picking, emptying bins (possible toilet cleaning on sites with public toilets) green space management, pruning hedges and bushes, plant identification and weeding of beds and containers. With good English both written and verbal as you will be completing paperwork both by hand and digitally. As you progress in the team you will be able to use more complicated machinery such a operating ride on mowers etc either practical experience or Certificate of Competence in the Safe Use of Mowers (Ride on). Ideally you would hold an NVQ in Garden Design or RHS Level 2 in Practical Horticulture or other Professional Gardening Level 2 qualifications or potentially Golf Greenkeeping Level 2.
