Job Overview:The Senior Principal Pipeline Engineer is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the Management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Pipeline Engineer is considered a specialist in Pipeline (Eng), and they offer a broad knowledge base about the Engineering Function. The Senior Principal Pipeline Engineer impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Pipeline Engineer role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Pipeline (Eng) challenges. Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering.Detailed knowledge of design techniques and analysis methods and detailed knowledge of the theory, content, and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable to offshore.Knowledgeable in project coordination and execution skills.Recognized across the company as a key lead, highly innovative designer, or highly skilled analyst.Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of Professional Engineering Society as applicable.Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications.Good knowledge of engineering software using DNV Software, SAGE 2D and SAGE3D, ABAQUS and FEA Packages like SACS and/or Autopipe.Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).Good working knowledge of the English language.HSE, TQM and cost-conscious.Good organizer, motivator, and supervisor.Keen on improving the effectiveness of the work.Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays.The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads (also other projects) when possible/desirable.The managing/learning of current working methods and software applications.The reassignment to other McDermott offices.#LI-SJ1#LI-DNI#LI-HybridKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Interpret internal and external business challenges in the pipeline engineering discipline, requiring specialized depth and breadth of expertise in the area of pipeline engineeringInterpret internal or external business issues and recommend best practicesSolve complex pipeline-related problems and work independently with minimal guidanceMay lead functional teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in the field of pipeline engineering, as such, they must have in-depth expertise in pipeline engineering as well as broad knowledge of the pipeline engineering discipline within the engineering function Develop creative and innovative solutions that are reliable and cost-effective for problems and challenges when they ariseApply expertise to the most complex problemsManage own time to meet objectives and (as Lead Engineer) forecast and plan resource requirementsDevelop and manage plans to achieve business objectivesClearly communicate and explain highly complex ideas and anticipate potential objections;
