Pay Per Session: £12,500.00 4 sessions a week St Julians Medical Centre is a friendly, well-established GP surgery and training practice in Newport, caring for approximately 15,000 patients. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our supportive team for 46 sessions per week, working across Monday, Thursday and Friday with on calls £12,500 per session. The postholder will manage a varied clinical caseload and provide high-quality general medical services to our registered patients. Including MDT meetings, on-call surgeries and home visits both routine/chronic and acute. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our supportive team for 46 sessions per week, working across Monday, Thursday and Friday. Our clinical team comprises • 5 GP Partners, • 2 Salaried GPs, • 2 GP Registrars, • 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, • An experienced nursing, healthcare and administrative team We pride ourselves on having a supportive and collaborative working environment, with a strong focus on high-quality patient care, education and professional development. As a training practice, we value the contribution that teaching and training brings to the whole team. We currently support two GP Registrars and have a strong culture of learning and development. We encourage our clinicians to develop their own areas of interest and are keen to support the successful applicant with their ongoing professional development. The role will include • Face-to-face, telephone and appropriate online consultations, • Management of acute and long-term conditions, • Appropriate prescribing and medicines management, • Reviewing results, correspondence and clinical information, • Referrals and associated clinical administration, • Clinically necessary home visits, • Participation in the practice duty/on-call rota, • Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS, • Working collaboratively with the wider practice team, • Participating in clinical meetings, audit and quality improvement The postholder will work as an autonomous practitioner and be expected to practise in accordance with the standards set out by the General Medical Council (GMC). • £12,500 per session per annum, • 46 sessions per week, • Working days: Monday, Thursday and Friday, • 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays., • NHS Pension Scheme, • On-call/duty responsibilities included within the sessional salary, • Clinically necessary house calls included within the sessional salary, • Supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, • Well-established GP training practice, • Regular clinical discussion and learning, • Support for continuing professional development, • Opportunity to develop individual clinical interests Appointment will be subject to the appropriate pre-employment checks, including professional registration, eligibility to work in the UK, references and the appropriate criminal record check. We would be very happy to meet prospective applicants, show you around the surgery and provide an opportunity to meet members of our team. • Doctor with medical degree registered with the GMC and proof of medicolegal insurance, • drivers license, • Have qualified as registered GP, • ideally possessing MRCGP, • Qualified General Practitioner, • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise, • Appropriate inclusion on the relevant Medical Performers List for Wales, or eligibility for inclusion, • Eligibility to practise as a GP in the UK, • Good clinical and communication skills, • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, • Commitment to high quality, patient-centred care, • Commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining professional standards, • Experience of EMIS, • Experience of working within NHS Wales primary care, • Experience of working within a training practice, • Interest in teaching, quality improvement or developing a specialist clinical interest This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
