This is for a brand-new restaurant and function room situated in the former Halifax bank next to my hotel (The Angel & Royal) on Grantham High Street. The restaurant and function room have been finished to a very high standard, and the manager I want should reflect that in the standards they set for themselves and their team. I am looking for a very hands-on manager with several years of relevant experience running a busy venue with all-day dining, functions, and late-night drinks and disco on weekends. You MUST have relevant experience of running a medium-volume food and drinks business and be comfortable being very hands-on, as this is what the position will require, along with lots of energy, drive and enthusiasm. You will lead from the front, lead by example, and help build "The Hally," as it will be called, into a force to be reckoned with for casual dining in Grantham. There is a lot of competition for casual dining in Grantham, and we need to maintain fantastic standards of food, service, and staff, so the team you build must be capable of consistently delivering great service. This position will begin towards the end of March 2026, with the planned opening at the end of April 2026. You will be responsible for interviewing and building a small team to run the business, and you will be involved in the initial training of that team, defining service steps, and overseeing all regulatory aspects of the business. You must have an eye for detail, be willing to put in the hours necessary to get this business off the ground from day one, be a team player and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
