Judopay is a new-age payments platform. We build and design the technology that enables payments for brands like KFC, Hiscox, Foxtons and AutoCab. You’ll be joining the company at a pivotal time in our growth as we expand our payment offering over the next 12 months. Focusing on reducing complexity across the entire payment chain, you’ll help some of the UK’s leading brands launch new payment products, reduce fraud and identify innovative ways for them to tackle business challenges through their in-app, online and face-to-face payments. We are seeking a passionate Senior Backend Scala Developer to join our API Team. Your primary objective is to support and expand our new "Shodan" payment platform. This is built almost entirely in Scala, based on a microservices architecture and with a design inspired by the Reactive Manifesto. Responsibilities • Active collaboration with the technology team to drive best practice, • Working on both improvements to existing services, and new feature development, • Ensuring timely delivery of solutions with a high level of quality in an agile environment, • Ensuring features are implemented with extensive and appropriate test coverage, • Maintaining documentation; recommending improvements, standards, tools and best practices, • Enthusiasm to acquire an appropriate knowledge of the technologies and principles used by, • the team, • Coordinating the delivery release pipeline, championing automation engineering and a CD, • goal across all services What We’re Looking For • 5+ years commercial experience with Scala, • Experience working with Akka, Play and Cats, • Working knowledge of Continuous Delivery / Continuous Integration, • Open and collaborative approach to your work, • Genuine passion to build products that will wow and delight our customers, • Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD,, • BDD, DDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, etc, • Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skills Nice to have • Payments industry experience, • Experience and good understanding of a micro-systems architecture, • Experience of event sourcing and CQRS, • Experience designing, building and delivering API’s, • Experience working with Lagom or Tapir, • Experience working with DevOps or cloud services tooling and infrastructure, • IT Related Degree Benefits • Competitive salary, • Uncapped Holiday - upon successful completion of probation, • Private medical healthcare - upon successful completion of probation, • Internal and external training, • Birthdays off, • Mental Health Self Care Days, • Personalised career development plan, • Cycle to work scheme., • Pension, • Very cool office in the heart of Hoxton with hybrid working policy in place, • Very delightful office dogs, • Enhanced parental leave policies, • Eyecare vouchers
