Head of Computing – Independent School (South West London) Location: South West London (across Upper & Lower School sites) Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the School This innovative and forward-thinking independent school in South West London is making significant investment into computing, digital learning, and AI education. The Role We are seeking a high-energy, engaging, and forward-thinking Head of Computing to lead computing across both Upper and Lower School sites. This is a permanent senior role with full autonomy over the computing provision, curriculum design, and use of cutting-edge resources. The successful candidate will be passionate about inspiring pupils—particularly at primary age—through fun, interactive lessons that clearly explain complex processes in an accessible and exciting way. You will play a central role in shaping how AI, digital literacy, and emerging technologies are embedded meaningfully across the school. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and develop computing provision across Upper and Lower School sites Design and deliver an engaging, age-appropriate computing curriculum, including AI, coding, robotics, digital safety, and creative technology projects Embed AI into lessons in imaginative and practical ways that excite and inspire pupils Make full and innovative use of the school’s state-of-the-art computer lab, VR headsets, 3D printers, and robotics equipment Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil engagement across all year groups Clearly explain technical concepts and processes to primary-aged pupils in an accessible and engaging manner Support staff across the school to integrate meaningful digital learning into their teaching Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within computing Oversee and coordinate online assessments and relevant external examinations Identify and support pupils with particular aptitude or interest in computing and technology Maintain a safe digital learning environment, including oversight of monitoring, filtering, and digital safeguarding Act as part of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) team with responsibility for online safety Role Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Proven experience teaching computing or a closely related subject Experience working with primary-aged pupils and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and enthusiastically High-energy, engaging teaching style with a passion for innovation Strong subject knowledge across computing, AI, robotics, and digital safety Experience working in a technology-rich or Apple-based environment (preferred) Confidence using and implementing emerging technologies such as VR and AI in the classroom Strong understanding of safeguarding, e-safety, and UK GDPR requirements Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to work flexibly across two school sites Why Join ANZUK Education?
