Job Title: Assembly Operative (Engineering) Pay Rate: £13.08 per hour (PAYE) Working Pattern: 4-day week, Monday to Thursday Hours: Typically full-time (exact shift times to be confirmed) Location: On-site manufacturing/engineering environment Job Purpose The Assembly Operative will be responsible for assembling mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components to engineering drawings and work instructions, ensuring products are built safely, accurately, and to required quality standards. Key Responsibilities • Assemble components and sub-assemblies using hand tools and basic power tools, • Follow engineering drawings, schematics, and written work instructions, • Carry out visual and basic functional checks to ensure product quality, • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area at all times, • Report faults, defects, or shortages to the team leader or supervisor, • Work collaboratively with other operatives, engineers, and production staff, • Adhere to health & safety, quality, and company procedures Skills & Experience Essential: • Previous experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or engineering environment, • Basic understanding of mechanical assembly processes, • Ability to read and follow instructions accurately, • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail, • Experience working from engineering drawings, • Knowledge of basic quality inspection processes, • Background in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical assembly Personal Attributes • Methodical and quality-focused, • Willingness to learn and follow process improvements, • Positive attitude and strong work ethic, • Able to meet production deadlines without compromising quality What's on Offer • £13.08 per hour, paid weekly or monthly (PAYE), • 4-day working week (Monday to Thursday) - long weekends every week, • Stable engineering/manufacturing role with consistent hours
