University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking to appoint a M&E Manager (Electrical) to be accountable for the Engineering Infrastructure, technical delivery and compliance of all UAL Campus buildings, in partnership with the Hard FM term contractor. Estates is a busy department delivering a diverse range of services to staff, students and visitors to the University, which includes Facilities Management and associated contracts, Estates Development, Strategic Projects, Sustainability and Risk and Compliance. As M&E Manager (Electrical), you will support in leading and managing all engineering requirements across mechanical and electrical (with a bias towards electrical), ensuring that UAL meets all statutory and regulatory requirements. Your contributions will be across three key deliverables, as M&E Manager (Electrical): • Delivery of Maintenance Operations, • Estates Development, Long Term Maintenance and Capital Projects Support, • Health and Safety The postholder will also be responsible for providing all information on the performance of the engineering infrastructure to the Head of Technical FM Services, maximising compliance, service quality and continuity. An excellent M&E (Electrical-bias) engineer who sets the very highest of standards, keeping up to date with legislative change and best practice within the industry, contributing to the development of Estates Procedures and specifications and, ensure they are complied with for works projects and maintenance operations. The post holder will be required to work with colleagues to ensure a seamless service to the department and UAL Colleges, proactively assessing and identifying business and stakeholder requirements. You will build collaborative relationships and common understanding with key stakeholders to ensure that the service provision reflects the Estates business requirements. We are seeking an individual who is a hands-on, qualified Electrical Engineer, with competency across M&E. You will have a proven track record of contributing to successful Hard FM teams operationally across a diverse, complex estate. You will be Educated to ONC/HNC level (or similar) in Electrical Engineering, with good knowledge primarily in electrical installations but with some experience of both disciplines (M&E). You will have substantial experience of contributing to the successful management of hard FM maintenance operations, refurbishment projects, development/improvement of long-term maintenance, planned and reactive maintenance systems and procedures and awareness of life cycle costing. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to proactively engage with team members and wider stakeholders.
