Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. We know this has a positive impact on the care provided to our patients.We have one of the most ambitious capital investment programmes anywhere in the NHS.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Job overviewStudent Health Visitor(Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in Training)Every day is different working as a Health Visitor (Specialist Community Public health Nurse) with various responsibilities which include: home visits/virtual consultations for health need assessments, promoting uptake of immunization , conducting child developmental and health reviews, running support groups for parents and working in collaboration with a range of local children agencies such as Early Years, Children Centres and Third Sector Organisations .A fully funded and salaried training places are available now, (Agenda for Change band 5-maximum will be mid-point) . The course comprises of 50% academic and 50% clinical placement in accordance with the University, NMC and Trust regulations.As a GSTT SCPHN student, you will be allocated a Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor plus additional support from the Practice Development Lead. You will play a fundamental role in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, promoting child development through parental support, safeguarding children, preventing social exclusion, and tackling important public health issues.With established Agile Working System, Health Visitors have the opportunity to work flexibly in the community and are a crucial part of the healthcare team.
