We are recruiting an experienced Nursery Cook / Chef to join a well-established childcare setting in the Surbiton area .This is an excellent opportunity for a Cook or Chef who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious food but is looking to move away from the long hours, evenings and weekends often associated with hospitality.You'll work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with no weekend working , earning £30,000 per annum .The Role As the Nursery Cook / Chef, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, preparing healthy, balanced and enjoyable meals for children aged 0–5 years .You'll need to confidently cater for individual dietary requirements and prepare suitable alternatives where required, while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.Your responsibilities will include:Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals for children aged 0–5Planning and preparing balanced meals and snacksCatering for allergies, intolerances and special dietary requirementsManaging the day-to-day running of the kitchenMaintaining excellent Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standardsEnsuring the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas are kept clean and organisedManaging food preparation effectively throughout the dayWorking closely with the wider nursery teamMaintaining appropriate food safety procedures and recordsWhat We're Looking For We would particularly like to hear from candidates with previous experience working as a Cook, Chef, Nursery Cook, School Cook or Catering Chef .Experience within a nursery, school, education or childcare environment would be highly desirable, although candidates from other suitable catering backgrounds will also be considered.You should have:Previous professional cooking experienceGood knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & SafetyAn understanding of dietary requirements and food allergiesStrong organisation and time-management skillsThe ability to work independently and use your initiativeA genuine interest in preparing high-quality, nutritious foodA suitable Food Hygiene qualification would be desirable.The successful candidate will be required to complete the appropriate Enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks .Why Apply?
