    Full-time
    London

Self-Employed Sales Executive – Steel Buildings About South West Steel Buildings South West Steel Buildings Ltd is a growing supplier of British-manufactured steel buildings, providing solutions for the agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors. We supply buildings ranging from agricultural storage buildings and workshops through to industrial units and larger commercial projects. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Self-Employed Sales Executive to generate new business and develop their own customer base. This is a self-employed, commission-only opportunity with no basic salary. Commission is uncapped and directly linked to sales generated. The Opportunity This role would suit an experienced salesperson who wants the freedom of self-employment combined with the earning potential of selling high-value products. You will be responsible for identifying and developing your own sales opportunities, with potential customers including: • Farmers and agricultural businesses, • Agricultural contractors, • Property developers, • Builders and construction companies, • Commercial property owners, • Industrial businesses, • Landowners and investors Projects can range from smaller workshops and storage buildings through to substantial agricultural and industrial developments. You don't necessarily need previous steel-building experience. Experience within agriculture, construction, building materials, machinery, property or high-value B2B sales would be particularly beneficial. Product and technical support will be provided by South West Steel Buildings. Commission 5% commission on qualifying net sales generated by you, excluding VAT. There is no commission ceiling. For illustration: £25,000 project = £1,250 commission £50,000 project = £2,500 commission £100,000 project = £5,000 commission These examples illustrate the commission calculation only and are not guaranteed earnings. Full commission terms, including when commission becomes payable, will be provided as part of the Sales Agent Agreement. What You'll Be Doing Your primary responsibility will be generating new business for South West Steel Buildings. This may include: • Prospecting and identifying potential customers, • Telephone-based business development, • Developing relationships with farmers, builders and developers, • Networking within the agricultural and construction industries, • Following up prospective projects, • Discussing initial building requirements with customers, • Maintaining relationships with prospective customers, • Developing repeat and referral business, • Working alongside SWSB to progress opportunities from initial enquiry through to order You will not be expected to carry out structural design or engineering calculations. Our team and manufacturing partners will provide support with building design, specifications, drawings and quotations where required, allowing you to concentrate on developing relationships and winning business. Who We're Looking For We're particularly interested in people who are confident speaking to business owners and decision-makers. You may already have experience selling: • Agricultural machinery or equipment, • Building materials, • Roofing or cladding, • Steel or structural products, • Commercial construction products, • Industrial products, • Property or construction services However, attitude and sales ability are more important than having worked specifically within the steel-building industry. You'll need to be: • Confident generating your own opportunities, • Comfortable with telephone prospecting and cold calling, • Able to build long-term customer relationships, • Self-motivated and organised, • Commercially minded, • Comfortable working independently, • Professional when representing South West Steel Buildings Why Work With SWSB? This isn't about selling hundreds of low-value products every month. Steel buildings are high-value purchases, meaning individual successful projects can generate substantial commission. You'll have access to: • British-manufactured steel building systems, • Competitive pricing, • Fast quotation capabilities, • Technical and design support, • Agricultural, commercial and industrial markets, • Supply-only and supply-and-erect solutions, • High-value project opportunities, • Uncapped 5% commission Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to build a territory and customer base over the long term, rather than simply work through a list of leads. Important – Self-Employed Position This is a self-employed, commission-only sales opportunity. There is no basic salary or guaranteed level of earnings. The successful applicant will operate on a self-employed basis and will be responsible for their own tax, National Insurance and other obligations associated with self-employment.
