Join Our Team as a Residential Childcare Support Worker!\n\n Salary: \n\n • \nUnqualified: Base salary of £30,277.23 to £31,208.49 upon successful completion of probation.\n, • \nQualified: Base salary of £31,867.18 (based on completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent).\n\n\n Contract Type: Permanent \n Specific Hours: 08:00am - 20:00pm (12-hour shifts) \n Location: Greater London (Covering Area Camden homes in Camden, Haringey & Islington) \n\nWhat We Offer:\n\n • Comprehensive induction and mandatory training to support your development and progression.\n, • Fixed 12-hour shift rota:\n \n, • Week 1: Wed, Thur (24 hours)\n, • Week 2: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun (60 hours)\n \n \n, • Guaranteed minimum average of 168 hours per month.\n, • Waking Night contracts available.\n, • 236 hours annual leave per year (including bank holidays).\n, • Annual leave increases by 12 hours per year for 3 years (up to 272 hours).\n, • Pension scheme (after qualifying period).\n, • Fully funded enrolment onto required qualifications.\n\n\nAbout Area Camden\n At Area Camden, part of the Polaris Community, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, family-style residential care. You'll build positive relationships, support young people with emotional and behavioral needs, and help them feel included in their local community. \n\nMain Responsibilities\n\n • Create a safe, nurturing environment that fosters each young person's development.\n, • Provide emotional and social support, helping young people build positive relationships and engage in their community.\n, • Promote confidence, self-esteem, and independence, encouraging positive life choices.\n, • Maintain accurate records, including daily updates, safeguarding information, and health & safety checks.\n, • Assess individual needs and contribute to planning, reviewing, and implementing care plans.\n, • Collaborate with managers, colleagues, and external professionals; supervise family contact when required.\n, • Support daily living needs in line with each young person's care plan.\n, • Assist with household tasks, meal planning, shopping, and preparing balanced meals, involving young people where appropriate.\n\n\nRequired Attributes\n\n, • Ability to engage with young people in a positive and proactive manner.\n, • Self-motivated with a positive outlook.\n, • Sensitive and reflective in approach.\n, • Strong listening and empathy skills.\n, • Able to work independently and as part of a team.\n, • Experience in the care sector or residential care is preferred.\n, • Hold a relevant qualification or be committed to undertaking a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare; we are looking for passionate and caring individuals who we will support to gain a qualification.\n, • Willingness to work some Bank Holidays.\n\n\n Area Camden is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from suitably qualified candidates.
