SEN Teaching Assistant – Chester and Surrounding Areas TalentBoard is growing across Cheshire, and we’re looking for dedicated, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Chester, Ellesmere Port and nearby areas. This is a flexible supply role with opportunities for part-time, full-time, short-term and long-term placements in both mainstream and specialist SEND settings. What the role involves • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with a wide range of SEND needs., • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to help children access learning and build confidence., • Promoting positive behaviour and helping maintain a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment., • Offering personal care support when required, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times., • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support each child’s progress., • Preparing resources and helping to maintain a well-organised, inclusive classroom setting., • Following safeguarding procedures and maintaining high standards of child protection. What we’re looking for • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial, but we also welcome applicants from care, support work, nursing or those with personal SEND experience., • Knowledge of SEND strategies and inclusive practices is an advantage, but not essential., • Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy., • Confidence working as part of a team and using your initiative.
