    We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and experienced Cleaner to join us here at Kingswood House. Kingswood House is a busy heritage building and community venue, welcoming a wide range of people and activities. Alongside our regular community use, we host weddings, wakes, private hires, professional bookings, community events and activities for children and young people. As a Cleaner at Kingswood House, you will be responsible for helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, artists, children, young people, private hirers and members of the local community. The role would involve carrying out regular cleaning throughout our large, multi-use building, including rooms, corridors, toilets, kitchens, communal areas and other facilities. You will also be responsible for preparing spaces to a high standard before events and carrying out thorough cleaning and room turnaround afterwards. Typical responsibilities include: ● Cleaning and sanitising toilets, kitchens, communal areas and other facilities. ● Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors. ● Dusting and wiping surfaces, furniture, fixtures and fittings. ● Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately. ● Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies. ● Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the building. ● Preparing rooms and facilities before events, private hires and professional bookings. ● Carrying out thorough cleaning and resetting of spaces following events and hires. ● Adjusting cleaning priorities depending on the building's schedule and activities. ● Reporting any damage, hazards, maintenance issues or shortages of supplies. ● Following Health & Safety and COSHH procedures. ● Working independently, managing your workload effectively and using your initiative. ● Communicating effectively with the wider Kingswood House team regarding cleaning requirements and upcoming events. ● Helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and professional environment for everyone using the venue. About you We are particularly looking for someone with previous commercial cleaning experience, ideally within a large or multi use building such as a venue, school, hotel, office, community facility or similar environment. You will have: ● Experience maintaining high standards of cleanliness across multiple rooms and different types of spaces. ● Experience preparing spaces before events and cleaning and resetting them afterwards. ● A good eye for detail and pride in your work. ● The ability to work efficiently and prioritise tasks in a busy environment. ● The ability to work independently and use your initiative. ● A reliable, flexible and professional approach. ● A good understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.     Job title: Building Manager Reports to: Premises Clerk Location: Ealing Quaker Meeting House, 17 Woodville Road, W5 2SE Contract: Fixed term of 18 months with the possibility of becoming permanent Hours: 15 hours per week onsite Salary: £14,110 (reviewed annually) Closing Date August 7th, 2026 Interview Date August 17th, 2026 Purpose of the Role The Building Manager is responsible for ensuring the Quaker Meeting House is safe, welcoming, well-maintained, and effectively managed as both a place of worship and a community venue. The role oversees the day-to-day operation of the building, including maintenance coordination, room hire and lettings, contractor management, administration, and support for health and safety compliance, in line with Quaker values and Meeting policies. Key Responsibilities The Buildings Manager will: · Support increased and appropriate use of the Meeting House through lettings aligned with Quaker values and Meeting policies. · Manage relationships with hirers and building users. · Oversee the day-to-day running of the building and associated administration. · Supervise cleaning staff and coordinate contractors and maintenance services. · Support safeguarding and health and safety compliance by ensuring required checks, records, and procedures are maintained. · Help maintain the Meeting House as both an attractive community venue and a place of worship. Location and flexible working · The post holder will be employed by London West Area Meeting. · The role is site-based. · Flexible and family-friendly working arrangements will be considered where operationally possible. · Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Principal Tasks Hirings and Income Development · Promote room hire and develop lettings opportunities consistent with Quaker values. · Market the Meeting House through appropriate digital and local channels. · Manage enquiries, bookings, hire agreements, and invoicing. · Coordinate bookings and balance the needs of hirers and Meeting activities. · Monitor local venue hire rates and gather feedback to improve uptake. · Build relationships with local Meeting Houses and community organisations where appropriate.
