Do you have high level multi-process welding skills? Can you read and interpret complex CAD drawings? Do you understand material properties? We are looking for a skilled fabricator / welder to join the team at our ___ in Stratford-upon-Avon, which is where sets and props for our shows take shape. In this role you will be central to delivering innovative, high-quality and sustainable stage scenery that will be used in productions across RSC stages. Being part of a theatre company, this role offers a huge range of creative fabrication work to support designers' requirements for shows in our artistic programme. You will be producing work of a high standard from detailed drawings ensuring that deadlines and requirements are met. Reporting to the Head of Scenic Construction key areas of responsibility include (please see the Role Profile for the comprehensive list): • Reviewing technical drawings and completing tasks, • Measuring, cutting and assembling set pieces using industrial machinery, • Carrying out regular tool safety checks, • Loading in scenic components to venues and securing them on stage., • MIG, TIG and ARC welding skills and techniques, • Experience in creating curved architectural scenery, • Good material knowledge of mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel and brass., • The ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings, technical blueprints and scale models.
