Research Data Analysis Manager 📍 Stratford | High-flex (1–2 days per week) 💼 Full-time (35 hours/week) 📆 Fixed-term contract: up to 6 months 💰 £46,000 – £54,000 (FTE) We are seeking an experienced Research Data Analysis Manager to join a high-profile, global research initiative that supports interdisciplinary teams tackling complex, long-term challenges. This role sits at the heart of an established evaluation framework and plays a critical part in shaping how progress, outcomes, and impact are measured and communicated. You will act as a subject-matter expert in research evaluation and impact assessment, producing high-quality analysis to inform senior leadership and external stakeholders. The role combines hands-on analytical delivery with strategic input into evaluation processes and tooling. Key Responsibilities Data collection and management • Lead the definition of appropriate metrics and datasets aligned to an agreed evaluation framework, • Support the development and adoption of new methods and tools for data collection and collation, • Review, improve, and quality-assure existing datasets held by the programme Portfolio analysis and evaluation • Manage the analysis and interpretation of complex quantitative and qualitative data, • Oversee analytical projects from design through to delivery, • Produce bespoke portfolio-level evaluations and impact analyses for senior and external audiences, • Deliver timely, accurate, and insight-driven outputs, including novel analyses and structured reviews of published data, • Communicate complex findings clearly using written reports, presentations, and visual outputs Evaluation function and process development • Support the development of a high-level evaluation workplan, • Build and maintain a robust “toolbox” of measures, metrics, and evaluation approaches, • Work cross-functionally to enable access to required data and improve data flows, • Develop standardised processes for ongoing data collection, reporting, and evaluation, • Provide expert guidance on interpretation, visualisation, and communication of evaluation findings, • Produce regular progress updates and manage engagement with key stakeholders Essential Skills and Experience • Strong knowledge of research evaluation and/or impact assessment theory, • Demonstrated experience applying evaluation methods in an organisational setting, • An analytical, business-focused mindset with the ability to translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements, • Proven ability to plan and deliver complex analyses across mixed data sources, • Skilled at turning analysis into clear, actionable insight for decision-makers, • Comfortable working in fluid, evolving environments and shaping ways of working, • Advanced MS Excel skills and strong PowerPoint capability; willingness to learn new tools, • Intellectually curious and motivated to continuously improve evaluation practice Desirable Experience • Experience evaluating large-scale or multi-partner research programmes, • Knowledge of research outputs and their use in impact assessment (e.g. bibliometrics), • Experience with databases, workflow tools, or data visualisation platforms
