North Co Recruitment are working with a leading UK retail insurer to appoint a Pricing & Portfolio Analyst into their Pricing & Analytics function. This role sits at the intersection of pricing, finance and actuarial, with responsibility for portfolio performance analysis, profitability forecasting and strategic insight delivery across Motor and Home portfolios. What you'll do • Develop profit trajectories and loss ratio projections for Motor and Home portfolios., • Analyse performance trends and provide market insights to drive pricing and trading decisions., • Support quarterly reserve reviews and annual budgeting and forecasting processes., • Work with Pricing teams on rate adequacy analysis and commercial strategy., • Partner with Finance on budgets, forecasts and performance reporting, including LR/COR bridge analysis., • Collaborate with Actuarial, Reserving and Claims teams on portfolio variance analysis and performance drivers., • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders across the business. What we're looking for • Experience in insurance pricing, actuarial, finance or analytics roles., • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and deliver compelling insights., • Proficiency in analytical tools such as Python, SQL, Excel or similar., • Understanding of insurance metrics including loss ratios, combined ratios and profitability measures., • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels., • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across multiple teams., • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Databricks) or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is desirable., • Familiarity with pricing models, trading processes or forecasting methodologies is advantageous.
