1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant\n\nLocation: Braford, West Yorkshire\n\nJob Type: Full time (Monday - Friday) 8:30am-3:00pm\n\nContract Type: Temporary, Term Time Only\n\nVeritas Education are working with a special school who are requiring a 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with complex needs and learning difficulties. The school is a supportive and inclusive special school committed to delivering exceptional education and care to children with SEN. Their mission is to create a positive and empowering learning environment where every student can succeed.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nWork closely with a designated student to provide tailored educational support and assistance.\nImplement and follow the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) to meet their specific learning needs.\nSupport the student in all aspects of their daily routine, including academic tasks, social interactions, and personal care if required.\nFoster a positive and encouraging learning environment to help the student build confidence and independence.\nCollaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the student's education.\nMonitor and report on the student's progress and well-being to inform ongoing support strategies.\nParticipate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.Requirements:\n\nProven experience supporting adults and/or children with complex needs is essential.\nPersonal experience supporting a family member with SEN/PMLD is also valued.\nLevel 2 Team Teach is essential, although this training can be offered by Veritas.\nSafeguarding training is essential, although this training can be offered by Veritas.\nGCSE English and Maths is essential.\nStrong knowledge of SEN is essential.\nStrong communication, empathy, and patience are crucial.
