You will teach all three sciences to GCSE and A Level, with a particular focus on Biology to A Level, fostering curiosity, critical thinking and a genuine enthusiasm for scientific enquiry.Beyond the classroom, you will play a full and active role in school life, supporting a tutor group within a boarding house and contributing to the rich co-curricular programme that is central to a Bloxham education.The Department:The Science Department is dedicated to cultivating a deep understanding of the natural world through the study of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Through practical investigation, collaborative learning and strong theoretical foundations, we aim to develop students’ analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and scientific literacy.We value evidence-based pedagogy, collaboration between colleagues and a commitment to continuous professional development.Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the age and ability range.- Teach Biology to A Level and all three sciences to GCSE and A Level.- Adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs, making effective use of assessment data.- Provide timely, constructive feedback in line with whole-school policy.- Monitor and support student progress, implementing targeted interventions where required.- Contribute to pastoral life through tutoring within a boarding house and participating in weekly evening boarding duty (where applicable).- Engage fully in the school’s broader curriculum, including trips, activities and events.- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute positively to departmental and whole-school initiatives.- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and assessment requirements.The Person:We are looking for a teacher who:- Holds a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related subject.- Has experience teaching Science to GCSE and A Level, with Biology to A Level.- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a commitment to high academic standards.- Is confident in using ICT to enhance teaching, learning and assessment.- Has excellent communication skills and thrives as part of a collaborative team.- Is committed to continuous professional development.- Is enthusiastic about contributing to the pastoral and co-curricular life of a boarding school.Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an ambitious teacher seeking your next challenge, this role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, ambitious and values-driven environment.Why Join Bloxham School?Bloxham School offers a supportive and collaborative environment where students thrive academically and personally. If you are a senior tutor, you will be expected to carry out one evening duty per week in their boarding house from 6.45-10.00pm and if a junior tutor, once a fortnight from 6pm-9pm.
