In this role, you will lead on IBSs Communication Information Systems (CIS). You will be the direct Line Manager for an Administration Officer (AO) Civil Servant as well as managing output from the Signal Platoon consisting of 19 Service Personnel (SP) of different ranks. It should be noted that although you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day output of the Signals Platoon, you will not be the Line Manager of individuals occupying any military positions. This dedicated team provides essential support to students during their trade training. Effectively managing the CIS equipment and personnel is a vital component of ensuring the successful delivery of courses at the IBS. Key Areas of Responsibility • Responsible for the safe custody, registration, mustering, amendment, issue, safe handling and disposal of all cryptographic items at IBS in accordance with MOD Policy, • Act as the IBS Information Technology Security Officer (ITSO) - manage CIS Security in accordance MOD Policy, • Manage the Commercial Radio systems and on-site fixed telecommunications, • Manage and accountability of IT Hardware to include both Ministry of Defence Network (MODNET) and Assisted Classroom Information Infrastructure (ACII), • Manage the CIS budget for Contracting, Procurement & Finance (CP&F) of IT equipment, • Line Management for 1 Administrative Officer, • This post also performs the role of Airwave Unit System Manager in-line with Risk Management Accreditation Document Set (RMADS) policy which is critical to the delivery of safe training, • This post also performs the role of Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) Safety Officer, analogous to the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Person specification This is an exceptional opportunity to take on a key position within our dynamic Military Communication Information Systems (CIS) Department.
