About The Role FGR Community is committed to reducing barriers to participation and creating opportunities for everyone to get active. As Disability Football Officer, you will play a key role in engaging participants of all ages with disabilities through football and physical activity. You will lead on delivering inclusive football sessions in schools and community settings, develop disability-focused programmes and events, and work with partners to ensure every participant has a safe, positive and enjoyable experience. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion, has strong communication skills, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of all participants. This role is part-time 24 hours a week, on a 1 year fixed term contract. Main Objectives: Session Delivery • Plan, deliver and review high-quality disability football sessions in schools, community clubs and external venues., • Adapt coaching methods to meet the needs of individuals and groups, ensuring sessions are fully inclusive., • Promote positive experiences for participants, encouraging confidence, teamwork and enjoyment of physical activity. Community Engagement • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, SEN providers, local clubs and community organisations., • Act as a role model and ambassador for FGR Community, promoting inclusivity and equal access to football., • Support the development of pathways for players with disabilities to continue their football journey. Event Coordination • Organise and deliver disability football festivals, tournaments and community events., • Work with colleagues to coordinate matchday experiences and opportunities for participants with disabilities., • Ensure events are well-managed, safe and enjoyable for all attendees. Safeguarding, Reporting & Administration • Maintain accurate registers, consent forms and monitoring data in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements., • Report on participation figures and the impact of disability programmes., • Ensure safeguarding practices are followed at all times and act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns., • Collaborate within the broader organisation and perform tasks as needed to ensure the realisation of the organisation's strategic goals. Role Requirements • This role is subject to full DBS Disclosure certification checks., • Evening and weekend work where required., • Full UK driving licence. About You Person Specification • FA Level 2 Coaching (Essential), • Experience in working in disability sport (Essential), • Disability football introduction or willingness to work towards (Essential), • Friendly, well organised with the ability to multi-task and exhibit a high level of honesty, integrity, reliability and confidentiality. (Essential), • Competent in undertaking administrative tasks. (Essential), • Strong written and verbal communication skills. (Essential), • Good IT skills (in particular Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (Essential), • Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative. (Essential), • Good time-management and flexible work ethic in a fast-paced environment (Essential), • Happy working within a team and supporting team members as needed. (Essential), • Strong passion for community engagement and promoting the positive aspects of supporting FGR. (Essential), • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (Essential), • FA First Aid or willing to work towards (Essential), • FA Safeguarding or willing to work towards (Essential), • Other disability coaching qualifications (Desirable), • Experience with event planning and coordination. (Desirable), • Previous experience in community outreach or fan engagement.
