Description of Role: The HR Business Partner is responsible for leading Plant Plan’s company-wide people & culture agenda and ensuring the business has the leadership capability, workforce, culture and HR infrastructure required to achieve its growth plans. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role combines strategic HR leadership with hands-on delivery. You will hold leaders accountable for people performance, improve recruitment and retention, work on proactive projects to improve culture, management and leadership capabilities, manage employment risk and provide clear people data to support business decisions. You will be privy to top-level, confidential information, and it is essential that you are always discreet and absolutely confidential. Responsibilities: • Provide the Managing Director and wider management team with required data, reports and insights to support decision-making and strategic direction., • Develop and deliver annual people and culture plans., • Ensure that staffing requirements are met, and that business capability is not hindered through roles not being adequately staffed., • Make sure all vacancies are filled promptly with capable people, aligned to our values and culture., • Lead on recruitment for roles in teams assigned to you for this purpose, including placing adverts, screening, and undertaking interviews., • Help build a talent pipeline for roles where we frequently need to add staff., • Succession planning and oversight of the development and training of future leaders., • Maintain a clear people plan for key roles and identified capability weak points, including building and maintaining a Skills Matrix for the organisation., • Implement consistent leadership and management delivery throughout the organisation, including both proactive (1-2-1s, Appraisals, etc.) and reactive (RTWs, Investigation Meetings, etc.) activities., • Oversight of and involvement in disciplinary, settlement, redundancy, grievance and performance management actions to ensure fair and compliant outcomes., • Always act with the best interests of the business in mind., • Provide coaching and training to business leaders on management best practices., • Lead on the people aspect of business changes, restructuring, and acquisitions., • Take ownership of the eNPS and retention KPIs for the business and take proactive steps to improve these scores at both a team and company level., • Carrying out Exit Interviews and feeding back findings to relevant teams/managers., • Oversight of the onboarding and training processes, and the application of these to individuals starting with Plant Plan., • Ensure contracts and other policies and records are compliant and up to date at all times. Be proactive in preparing the company for changes in legislation and employment law best practice., • Make sure HR programmes, incentives, systems and processes are secure, fit for purpose, and provide good value for money and, where appropriate, ROI., • Communicate promptly and concisely, and ensure deliverables and projects are completed on time. Skills, Attributes & Experience - What We're Looking For: • An excellent cultural fit with Plant Plan, someone who shares our values and mindset., • Experience in delivering people & culture related organisational-level change., • A track record of senior-level generalist HR experience in fast-growing SME businesses., • A commercial mindset, with a clear understanding of how decisions affect profitability, productivity, and the capacity to grow., • Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of UK and European employment law., • Able to travel throughout the UK and Ireland for work., • Has the credibility and knowledge to support, coach and challenge senior leaders., • Comfortable taking responsibility for and dealing with challenging situations and people., • Highly confidential., • CIPD Level 7 qualified (or similar)., • Organised, diligent, excellent task-management skills, and deadline-driven., • Empathetic, with excellent people and listening skills., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Flexible and comfortable with changing priorities., • Able to work independently – doesn’t require constant supervision., • Familiarity with Indeed & LinkedIn Recruiter – doesn’t require or rely on 3rd party recruiters to fill roles., • An enthusiastic adopter of AI in the workplace.
