CAD Manager – MEP Design We are seeking a talented and proactive CAD Manager to take a leading role in the production and coordination of MEP designs across a wide range of projects — from small-scale refurbishments to large residential, education, and commercial developments. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven CAD professional with a strong eye for detail who values technical excellence, collaboration, and the satisfaction of delivering high-quality design outputs. The Role As CAD Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring drawings, models, and design information meet the highest technical and quality standards. You will work closely with engineers and remote teams to deliver coordinated, accurate, and timely outputs that support successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities Drawing Production & Coordination • Produce accurate, coordinated 2D MEP drawings up to construction level., • Translate engineers’ mark-ups and briefs into clear, high-quality CAD drawings., • Manage MEP drawings, models, worksets, and sheets to project standards., • Ensure effective coordination across MEP, architectural, and structural disciplines. Team Leadership & Collaboration • Liaise daily with engineers to understand project deadlines and incoming CAD requests., • Allocate and review CAD tasks to ensure consistency and quality of output., • Undertake hands-on CAD production alongside management responsibilities., • Mentor and provide technical guidance to CAD technicians., • Support engineers at design team and client meetings, contributing to coordination and technical discussions. Quality, Standards & Process • Follow and enhance QA and BIM processes in line with industry standards., • Maintain compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry best practice (CIBSE, BSRIA, UK BIM Framework, ISO 19650)., • Ensure drawings and models are stored and managed in accordance with document control and digital engineering procedures., • Manage document issue sheets and published drawing outputs for each project. Skills & Experience Required • 5–10 years’ proven experience producing MEP drawings using AutoCAD., • Strong understanding of building services, coordination, and construction processes., • Experience working within a small to medium-sized consulting engineering environment., • Proven ability to manage drawing production across multiple projects and deadlines., • Confident setting up and managing 2D layouts, schematic drawings, and MEP models., • Excellent communication and organisational skills with strong attention to detail., • Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery., • Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and British Standards., • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and disciplines.
