Flexible working options (including hybrid)\n \nJob Ref: P1719\n \nAbout the role\n \nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader in the Legal Shared Service Litigation and Regulatory team.\n \nThis pivotal role will predominantly:\n\nLead, support, develop and manage the Litigation and Regulatory team, and\nEnsure the delivery of proactive, robust, high quality and specialist legal advice on Litigation and Regulatory legal matters.\n \nIn addition, the postholder will support the achievement of the Council’s corporate plan, projects and aims and ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service from the in-house team, external solicitors and from counsel.\n \nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead, support and develop the Litigation and Regulatory team and contribute to the development of the Legal Shared Service, generally.\nLead on complex legal matters, identifying potential areas of risk and liability and advising on solution focused strategies.\nEnsure Legal Shared Services provides proactive, pragmatic, robust and solution focused advice and a support service to all clients (internal and external).\nMonitor budgets for the Litigation and Regulatory team, looking for innovative and creative ways to save money whilst improving the services provided.\nResearch, analyse, investigate and provide legal advice to councillors and to officers on any matter within the functions of the Council.\nAttend Member and Officer meetings as required, including meetings of the Council, Cabinet and Committees to ensure that decisions are lawful.\n \nAbout You\n \nWe’re seeking a confident legal professional with:\n\nProven track record in managing a legal team.\nLegal expertise and experience in Litigation and Regulatory law.\nStrong interpersonal and client management skills.\nA collaborative approach to working across councils and teams.\n \nGuided by our Sustainability and Climate Crisis Strategy, we put the environment at the heart of every decision.
