Interim Planned Investment Surveyor Role Title: Interim Planned Investment Surveyor Sector: Social Housing (Housing Association) Contract Type: Interim / Contract (initial 6–12 months, potential extension) Location: UK-based Overview We are seeking an experienced Interim Planned Investment Surveyor to support a leading social housing provider in delivering high-quality planned investment and capital works programmes. This role will focus on technical surveying, specification, and project oversight to ensure properties meet Decent Homes Standards, regulatory requirements, and strategic asset management objectives. Key Responsibilities • Conduct stock condition surveys, validation surveys, defect diagnoses, and investment needs assessments across residential properties., • Prepare detailed specifications, scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates for planned programmes (e.g., roofing, windows, heating systems, kitchens/bathrooms, external works, and energy efficiency upgrades)., • Act as technical lead and single point of contact for survey-related aspects of investment projects, including liaison with contractors, residents, and internal teams., • Undertake site inspections (ground-level, mid-works, and handover) to monitor quality, compliance, and progress., • Support procurement processes, tender evaluations, and contractor performance management., • Contribute to data-driven investment planning, including input into long-term asset strategies and budget forecasting., • Ensure all works comply with health & safety, CDM regulations, building standards, and social housing-specific requirements (e.g., tenant safety, value for money)., • Proven experience as a Building Surveyor or similar in social housing, local authority, or public sector residential property., • Strong technical knowledge of planned/capital works programmes, stock condition surveying, and major component lifecycles., • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS, CIOB, or equivalent building surveying qualification)., • Experience in preparing specifications, managing site inspections, and delivering resident-focused projects., • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement, including residents and contractors., • Ability to work independently on interim basis with immediate availability., • Knowledge of energy efficiency/retrofitting programmes (e.g., EPC improvements, net zero ambitions).
