Part-time | 20-25 hours per week | £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience Work from home, with occasional in-person meetings in Wimbledon, London Reports to: Company Directors Start Date: beginning of June 2026 We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and approachable Part-Time Swim School Manager to support the smooth running of our swim school programme. This role is ideal for someone with management experience who enjoys creating structure, solving problems, supporting a team and improving the way things work. You will work closely with our administrative coordinator, providing oversight and stepping in where needed, while taking responsibility for the wider day-to-day operation of the programme. You will play an important part in helping us improve systems, strengthen day-to-day operations and maintain a high standard of service for both staff and customers. This role offers lots of flexibility in terms of the hours you would work - the role typically requires an average of 3–5 hours per day, which can be completed at any point between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (the successful candidate will have autonomy to choose when to complete this work within the day) with only occasional evening or weekend support required in exceptional situations. This role would suit someone who enjoys working independently while having the freedom to structure their day around core responsibilities. There will also be occasions when the successful candidate is required to attend scheduled in-person meetings in Wimbledon, particularly during the initial onboarding period, when a substantial amount of training will take place over the first few months. Pool visits will be required only occasionally, typically around once every 3 months - our venues are based across the South and North West of England. Where travel is necessary, this will always be planned well in advance wherever possible, and all associated travel and accommodation costs will be fully covered. In addition, there will be times when the successful candidate is expected to be available for scheduled phone calls, team training, and important meetings, as well as provide occasional support with urgent operational matters that may arise at short notice, such as last-minute teacher absences or unexpected pool closures. Key responsibilities • Oversee the day-to-day running of the swim school programme, • Manage class programme - optimise the registers to create new classes where possible, • Manage the scheduling and processing of monthly direct debit payments through the company’s direct debit system, • Prepare and distribute bulk communications to customers in a clear and timely manner, • Lead the recruitment of new swimming teachers and manage a seamless transition between departing and newly appointed teachers, • Coordinate teacher cover arrangements during planned and unplanned absences, including sourcing last-minute cover when required, • Supervise and support the team, including the administrative coordinator, • Act as a key point of contact for staff queries and day-to-day problem solving, • Respond to customer feedback and help maintain a high standard of customer service alongside our administrative coordinator, • Improve internal systems, workflows and administrative processes, • Help streamline and automate admin tasks where appropriate, • Support smooth operations and the overall performance of the programme What we’re looking for • Previous management experience, • Experience working in children’s activities, sport, leisure or a similar environment, • Strong communication, organisational and administrative skills, • Clear, warm and professional communication, • A proactive, reliable and solutions-focused approach, • Confidence managing people, handling operational detail and working independently Experience in a swim school or similar children’s activity setting would be an advantage, along with experience improving systems or administrative efficiency.
