The Role As our Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, from menu development and ingredient sourcing to team leadership and financial management. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for exceptional food and service, contributing directly to our restaurant's success. Key Responsibilities • Culinary Excellence & Menu Innovation: Lead the development and execution of our menu, introducing exciting new dishes and specials, with a focus on fresh seafood. Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and taste across all preparations., • Kitchen Operations & Efficiency: Manage daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and service flow. Oversee inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise waste., • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing culinary team. Foster a positive, productive, and collaborative kitchen environment. Manage staff scheduling and performance reviews., • Food Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce strict adherence to all food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and health & safety regulations. Maintain accurate records and ensure the kitchen is inspection-ready at all times., • Financial Management: Monitor and control food costs, labour costs, and kitchen budgets to achieve profitability targets. Identify and implement strategies for continuous improvement in kitchen efficiency and cost-effectiveness. What We're Looking For • Proven experience as a Head Chef or highly experienced Sous Chef in a busy restaurant, preferably with expertise in seafood cuisine., • Exceptional culinary skills, creativity, and a passion for high-quality ingredients and innovative dishes., • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills., • In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and HACCP principles., • Demonstrated ability to manage food costs, inventory, and kitchen budgets effectively., • Ability to perform calmly and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment., • A commitment to delivering an outstanding guest dining experience.
