Electrical Design Engineer Permanent | Office-based Im working with a well-established, close-knit building services design consultancy in East Surrey. Theyre looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This role is for a hands-on designer. Youll be involved in real, varied design work from concept to completion, not managing huge overseas megaprojects. Their projects cover offices (speculative and fit-out), hotels, education, residential, retail, restaurants and light industrial. What youll be doing Electrical services design across RIBA stages: lighting, small power, containment, LV distribution, fire alarm and security systems Cable calculations in ElectricalOM and lighting calculations in Dialux Producing LV schematics, DB schedules and layouts Working directly with architects, clients and contractors Working closely with the directors, with real visibility and room to grow What theyre looking for At least 2 years of UK building services electrical design experience (graduate 2 and above, all levels considered) A solid grounding in general building services design Working knowledge of ElectricalOM and Dialux, plus AutoCAD Good understanding of BS 7671 and relevant UK standards A relevant degree or HNC/HND in electrical or building services engineering Able to commute to East Surrey. The team is office-based, with 1 day from home.
