Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to lead and manage our Commercial Operations team, both internally and externally. The role involves overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of our Secondary glazing projects, ensuring accurate cost management, contract compliance, and effective stakeholder communication to deliver projects on time and within budget. This role demands a high level of commercial acumen, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to work with precision under varying workloads. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with interpersonal confidence to support project success and sustainable growth within the business. Key Responsibilities Team & Stakeholder Management • Lead, mentor, and manage the internal Commercial Operations team, fostering collaboration and professional development., • Coordinate with external commercial teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure aligned objectives and seamless delivery., • Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows., • Produce accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation., • Administer contracts, including managing variations, claims, and final accounts., • Oversee procurement processes, from supplier selection to negotiation and contract award., • Produce and present regular commercial reports to senior management and stakeholders., • Monitor commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies., • Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify completed works., • Certify interim and final payments for contractors., • Support project managers in achieving operational and financial targets. Skills & Competencies • Proven leadership and team management abilities., • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills., • Proficiency in QS and cost management software, • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills., • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT, NEC). Qualifications & Experience • Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AIQS, CIOB) would be an advantage but not essential, • 5+ years of relevant QS experience, with at least 2 years in a management role., • Strong understanding of construction processes, procurement, and contract law. This role will be hybrid working, either based in the Office (Dinnington, Sheffield) or on-site (UK wide) Very competitive salary (depending on experience)
