Do you believe education should be life-changing, not box-ticking? Are you at your best when you’re helping people grow in confidence, rediscover their potential, and take meaningful steps towards employment? A respected, mission-driven education and skills organisation is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Tutor to deliver short, high-impact programmes for adult learners across the Liverpool City Region. This is a role where your work genuinely matters — every day. This is not a “stand and deliver” teaching role. You’ll be trusted as a professional — given the space to design engaging sessions, adapt learning to individual needs, and bring your personality into the classroom. You’ll be supported by a collaborative, experienced team who care deeply about learner outcomes and staff wellbeing. The organisation behind this role is values-led, inclusive, and passionate about social impact. They invest in their people, encourage flexibility, and genuinely believe that great learning starts with great relationships. This role is centred on delivering intensive, three-week classroom-based courses designed to help adults move forward — whether that’s into work, further training, or a more confident future. You’ll be teaching small, supportive groups (typically 12–15 learners), allowing you to build real relationships, tailor your approach, and see the direct impact of your teaching. Courses cover a range of practical and employability-focused subject areas, including Construction Skills, Hospitality, Customer Service, Retail, Care and Security, depending on your background and experience. Many of your learners will have faced barriers to employment — confidence gaps, previous negative experiences of education, or long periods out of work. Your role is to help them believe in themselves again, while equipping them with recognised qualifications and essential workplace skills. • Delivering engaging, classroom-based learning from Entry Level 3 to Level 2., • Creating a safe, inclusive and motivating learning environmentPlanning sessions that meet a wide range of learning styles and needs, • Carrying out initial and ongoing assessments to ensure learners are on the right programme, • Marking learner work, portfolios and assessments, and providing clear, constructive feedback, • Supporting learners to set and achieve SMART development goals, • Tracking progress and celebrating success — big and small, • Completing required paperwork confidently and accurately, • Playing an active role in learner progression, retention and achievement Who this role will suit You’ll thrive in this role if you’re someone who: • Is motivating, encouraging and approachable, • Enjoys working with adults and understands the challenges they may face, • Believes learning should be practical, supportive and confidence-building, • Can balance structure with flexibility in the classroom, • Takes pride in helping others succeed What you’ll bring You’ll need: • Teaching or tutoring experience, ideally with adult learners, • Relevant industry experience in one or more sectors (e.g. Construction, Hospitality, Customer Service, Care, Retail, SIA), • A teaching qualification (minimum PTLLS Level 3), • Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE or Functional Skills), • Strong communication and organisational skills, • Confidence using IT to support learning Experience in employability provision, IAG, or supporting learners with additional needs is welcomed — but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, empathy, and commitment to learner success. Location & flexibility The role is based across the Liverpool City Region, with some travel required. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are helpful, but flexibility is available and can be discussed. A supportive, inclusive employer This organisation is deeply committed to safeguarding, equality and inclusion, and actively welcomes applications from diverse backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments are supported throughout the recruitment process, and safer recruitment checks apply to all appointments. They also believe in flexibility and agile working, encouraging open conversations about what you need to do your best work.
