Pertemps Crawley are excited to be exclusively supporting our client, a well-established manufacturing business, to appoint a Head of HR to join their reputable and ever-growing SME. Package & Details: Salary up to £65,000 DOE Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm Redhill based + occasional travel This is a key HR leadership role within a business of circa 130 employees, working as part of a small HR team alongside an HR Advisor. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll take ownership of the people agenda—balancing strategic direction with a very hands-on approach. Based at the Redhill head office, you’ll also support additional sites in Crawley and Wales, building strong relationships across operations and ensuring a consistent, high-quality HR approach across the group. Alongside core HR responsibilities, you’ll play a key role in shaping 2026 priorities, including: Implementation of a new HR system Succession planning and long-term workforce strategy Development of apprenticeship and early careers pathways As a broad, varied role with real influence across the business, key areas will include: Leadership & Strategy Partnering with senior leadership to align HR with business goals Leading on organisational design, workforce planning, and changeHands-on HR Delivery Overseeing all aspects of HR operations—from ER through to recruitment Working closely with and supporting the HR Advisor Supporting managers with practical, commercially sound advice Ensuring compliance, consistency, and strong HR fundamentalsTalent & Culture Driving recruitment across operational and specialist roles Embedding effective onboarding, development, and performance frameworks Supporting a positive, high-performance culture within a manufacturing environmentMulti-site Impact & Improvement Providing visible, consistent HR support across all sites Driving improvements in systems, processes, and reporting Experience required: Experience at Head of HR level (or similar) within an SME Manufacturing or engineering background essential A hands-on, practical approach alongside strategic capability Strong knowledge of UK employment law Experience working across multi-site operations CIPD Level 5+ qualified (Level 7 desirable) Why Apply?
