Engineering Manager\n\nWe are now recruiting an Engineering Manager to join the Engineering function at our Denham site.\n\nThe Role:\n\nAs an Engineering Manager, you will lead high-performing multi-disciplinary engineering teams to develop, deliver, and support complex aerospace products.\n\nThis is a senior leadership role requiring excellent people leadership, delivery focus and organisation. You will manage and develop large teams of managers and engineers across Mechanical, Systems and Software disciplines, ensuring projects are effectively prioritised, resourced, and delivered to programme objectives.\n\nWorking closely with other business functions, you will drive collaboration across teams, influence stakeholders at all levels, and help align engineering activity to business needs. You will be a strong communicator who thrives in complex environments and is comfortable leading through challenge and change.\n\nThe role also includes responsibility for workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning, capability development, and continuous improvement across the engineering function.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams and managers\n\nDrive delivery, resource planning, prioritisation, and programme execution\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally to influence and align teams to shared objectives\n\nSupport workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning, and team development\n\nCoach and develop engineering leaders and teams\n\nPromote continuous improvement across engineering processes and systems\n\nSupport engineering governance, compliance, and lifecycle activities\n\nCommunicate effectively with stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors\n\nEssential:\n\n Degree-qualified in Engineering, Science, or a related STEM discipline\n\n Proven experience leading managers and engineering teams within complex or regulated environments\n\n Experience across Mechanical, Systems, and/or Production Engineering\n\n Strong delivery, organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills\n\n Experience in workforce planning, recruitment, and resource management\n\n Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability\n\n Comfortable working in challenging, fast-paced, and evolving environments\n\nDesirable:\n\n 10+ years Aerospace or Defence industry experience.\n\n Knowledge of aerospace standards including DO-178, DO-254, and MIL-STD\n\n Familiarity with Teamcenter and SAP\n\n * Chartered Engineer (CEng) status\n\nBenefits:\n\n9% non-contributory pension (18+)\n\nMidday finish on Fridays\n\n4x salary Life Assurance (18+)\n\nHealthcare Cash Plan\n\n25 days holiday + bank holidays\n\nOption to purchase additional annual leave\n\nPersonalised training & development plan\n\nCycle to Work & nursery benefits\n\nDiscounts via Martin-Baker+ platform\n\nWhy Join Us?\n\nAt Martin-Baker, your work directly contributes to saving lives.
