You'll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO's partners to help businesses effectively. You'll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with. Overview Step into the role of Assistant Manager, where you'll manage a portfolio of clients and support senior team members in delivering services promptly. Your portfolio will include reviewing year-end statutory accounts compliance and liaising with audit teams, both BDO and non-BDO, alongside handling ad-hoc advisory requests. You'll assess resource needs, monitor progress against budgets and timelines, review junior staff work, and resolve issues before Manager or Partner review. You'll work independently, ensuring project delivery and acting as the first point of contact for clients and auditors. With strong accounting skills and business acumen, you'll analyse client data, make recommendations, and discuss issues credibly. You'll also play a key role in team development, promoting BDO values and providing performance feedback. You'll be someone with: A professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent An excellent working knowledge of FRS102 and IFRS Experience as a trainee or senior role, including delivering statutory accounts preparation or accounting services to ambitious entrepreneurial businesses A proven ability to research technical accounting matters Demonstratable working knowledge of financial products, firm services, issues regarding advice and regulation and compliance, including anti-money laundering You'll be able to be yourself; we'll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business.
