Midwich Group is embarking on an ambitious digital innovation programme. As part of this transformation, we’re looking for a Group IT Azure Engineer to take a lead role in cloud-related projects, ensuring scalable, secure, and effective deployment of solutions across our global operations. About the Role As our Azure SME, you’ll be responsible for the design, expansion, implementation, support, and operationalisation of cloud-based solutions across the Group. This is a hands-on, high-impact role within the Group IT Team, where you’ll provide expert-level support for mission-critical systems and contribute to a continuously improving service model. You’ll work within a global service delivery framework, managing geographically dispersed systems and collaborating with business users, Infrastructure, Security, Application, and Service Delivery teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of Azure-based solutions. You’ll also play a key role in strategic cloud transformation initiatives, applying ITIL best practices and mentoring junior team members to build technical capability across the department. Key Responsibilities • Administer and optimise Azure subscriptions, integrations, and infrastructure., • Ensure network and data security, backups, and compliance with industry standards., • Implement access controls based on least privilege and need-to-know principles., • Evaluate, test, and deploy software and hardware upgrades., • Apply security policies and decommission unused services., • Lead and contribute to complex infrastructure projects., • Maintain comprehensive documentation and support knowledge sharing., • Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal data protection policies., • Contribute to cloud strategy and innovation., • Mentor and support junior engineers. What We’re Looking For • Essential Experience & Knowledge, • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure., • Proven track record in Azure infrastructure design and management., • Hybrid cloud and migration experience., • Deep understanding of Azure services (VMs, AD, Networking, Storage, Monitoring)., • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, CLI, Python)., • Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models., • Desirable, • Experience in global, multi-tenant environments., • Exposure to Azure Stack, CoPilot, Power Platform., • Knowledge of emerging Azure technologies (e.g., Azure Arc)., • Skills in automation/orchestration tools.
