Occupational Therapist - SEN/SEMH School setting\n \n Location: East London (E15)\n Pay: £44,101 - £49,447 per annum\n Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent\n Start Date: ASAP\n Commutable from: Stratford, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and surrounding East London boroughs.\n \n Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist for a permanent, full-time position within a specialist education setting in East London.\n \n This role involves delivering intensive therapeutic interventions for children and young people with complex needs, including SEMH and neurodiverse profiles. You will work within a multi-disciplinary clinical team to provide assessments, co-produce sensory passports, and implement EHCP targets to help students achieve meaningful outcomes and develop independence.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLiaise closely with the multi-disciplinary clinical team and managers to provide intensive treatment services.\nIdentify and deliver Occupational Therapy interventions as specified in student EHCPs.\nConduct observations across the setting to identify pupils who would benefit from therapy but do not yet have it formalised.\nCo-produce care plans and sensory/communication passports.\nAdvise on classroom modifications and implement Positive Handling Plans in accordance with Safety Intervention.\nUndertake highly specialised assessments to understand the complex sensory and functional needs of pupils.\nDevelop innovative strategies for difficulties involving motor skills, social skills, and occupational performance.\nProvide clear written and verbal feedback to parents, carers, and external agencies while maintaining GDPR compliance.\nTrain and support school staff in utilising therapeutic strategies and sensory-based interventions.\n Essential Candidate Requirements\n\nRecognised Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC Licence to Practice.\nRegistered member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.\nMinimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years specialising in complex needs such as SEMH, ASD, or high-risk behaviours.\nExperience working within multi-disciplinary and inter-agency frameworks.\nStrong understanding of neurodiversity, attachment, and trauma-informed practice.\nExcellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.\nProficient IT skills and experience in clinical record keeping.\n What Long Term Futures Offers\n\nCompetitive salary aligned with clinical banding.\nWork within a specialist, therapeutic environment focused on staff wellbeing.\nOpportunities for continued professional development and specialist training.\n Ready to Apply?
