As a Graduate Characterisation Consultant in the Radiation Protection and Characterisation team, you'll work alongside industry experts on high-impact projects supporting the characterisation and decommissioning of nuclear facilities, as well as providing radiation protection support to clients across the UK. This role combines both desk-based and field-based work, and may involve: • Reviewing analytical data, developing conclusions, and making recommendations, • Assisting in the production of documentation such as method statements, job reports, and risk assessments, • Supporting the development of building history files, • Developing sampling and analysis plans, • Creating Data Quality Objectives (DQOs) and Data Quality Assessments (DQAs), • Providing advice to clients on sampling methods and requirements to meet project or regulatory criteria, • Working closely with colleagues and clients, which may require regular travel to different sites, • Training and opportunities to undertake health physics surveys (radiation and contamination) We are looking for candidates who: Have completed an undergraduate or master's degree level qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. (e.g. physics, chemistry, environmental science, geography, or related STEM discipline)) by summer 2026. And with the following Key Skills & Attributes: • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage with scientists, engineers, and non-technical personnel clearly and confidently, • Analytical Thinking: Comfortable working with data, identifying risks, and solving problems creatively, • Team Collaborator: Ability to work effectively within a team but also independently, • Organisation & Time Management: Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines, • Initiative & Curiosity: Willing to take ownership, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to grow, • Customer Focus: Understanding of consultancy and customer service; experience from any customer-facing role (including retail or hospitality) is valuable, • Flexibility: Willingness to develop new skills and travel to client sites when required, • A flexible self-starter, who is keen to drive their career forward., • Completed your first degree no earlier than the summer of 2024, • Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation This advert will close on 31st January 2026.
