Responsibilities: • Operate a range of specialist drainage equipment safely and effectively., • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures at all times., • Liaise professionally with customers regarding planned works, providing updates and addressing any queries., • Support in identifying and resolving drainage issues such as blockages, defects, root ingress, and infiltration., • Use high-pressure water jetting systems to clean and clear drains, sewers, and pipe networks., • Assist with the removal and disposal of waste materials to maintain efficient flow in wastewater systems., • Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness., • Work alongside CCTV survey teams to inspect underground assets and assess their condition., • Respond to emergency callouts, including flooding incidents and other urgent drainage problems., • Full UK driving licence (maximum of six penalty points)., • Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)., • Keen interest in drainage, waste management, or related utilities sectors., • Practical, hands-on attitude with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions., • Strong teamwork and communication skills., • Driving Licence (required)., • CSCS Card (preferred)., • High Pressure Water Jetting Card (preferred).

Intermediate Cable Design Engineer – HV Underground (132–400kV) Overview: We are looking for an Intermediate Cable Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of 132–400kV underground cable systems for transmission and grid projects. You will contribute to cable system design, technical studies, and installation engineering within a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: • Design HV/EHV XLPE underground cable systems including routing, joint bays, terminations, and bonding/earthing., • Perform ampacity and thermal rating calculations (e.g., CYMCAP)., • Conduct engineering studies such as short-circuit, induced voltage, and EMF analysis., • Develop installation methodologies and pulling calculations., • Produce technical specifications, drawings, and reports., • Coordinate with civil, substation, contractors, and cable suppliers., • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, CIGRE, and client standards. Requirements: • Degree in Electrical Engineering., • 3–6 years’ experience in HV/EHV underground cable design., • Knowledge of XLPE cable systems, bonding methods, and cable accessories., • Experience with CYMCAP (or similar) and AutoCAD. Nice to Have: • EPC/consultancy experience., • Working toward Chartership., • Exposure to HVDC or large transmission projects.

Project Engineers The job: We are looking for project engineers to engineer and manage electricity distribution system projects at voltages from low voltage up to and including 132kV. The projects will range in size and complexity from small network extensions, through to major substation works, underground cable and overhead line projects ranging in costs from a few thousand to several million pounds. We are looking for people able to work on their own initiative to lead the engineering management of these projects from project conception through to completion, apply engineering judgement and knowing when to seek specialist input. Projects will be assigned at the conceptual stage and project engineers will be required to manage the engineering design phase through a design team, preparation of work packages/input to contract documents as applicable and managing projects to a fixed timeline and cost. The projects will range from large scale complex single site projects to multi location extensive work programmes over extended periods. The complexity of projects to be managed will depend on the individual’s experience and particular skill background, for example overhead line works, substation works or voltage level. The Person: Applicants should ideally be familiar with electricity distribution or transmission systems through previous experience or have a utility project management background. Applicants with transferrable skills from other suitable backgrounds, for example power generation, military engineering or mechanical engineering will be considered. Key attributes will be an awareness of all industry-based Health and Safety legislation and standards, a strong environmental awareness and a good working knowledge of the ESQCR Regulations 2002. Site visits and some supervision may be involved so a clean driving licence is essential. Qualifications: Applicants with a minimum of an HNC or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering will be at an advantage. For the more senior roles a minimum of an HNC will be advantageous, but in each case we will consider those who can demonstrate similar skills and knowledge through experience. IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification or equivalent would be an advantage. Location: North of England / Yorkshire / North Lincolnshire; work will be from a nominated base location, though site visits, visits to other office locations will be required and some home-based working may be possible, depending upon current project and home locations.
