International Electrical Engineer Location: UK-based (with extensive international travel) Reporting to: International Service Manager Salary: £45,000 + overtime (paid at 1.5x / 2x) Position Overview The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing depot repair, field service, and technical support for standard and specialist PAGA and communications systems to both internal and external customers. This role combines hands-on field work, bench repair, and telephone-based technical support, with a strong focus on troubleshooting and resolving customer issues efficiently and professionally. Reporting to the International Service Manager, the Field Service Technician will act as a key point of contact for customer technical support requests, liaising with internal departments to investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner. The role involves a significant amount of international travel, including offshore locations. Travel assignments may be up to 6 weeks at a time, followed by 2 weeks’ break between rotations. The successful candidate must also be willing and able to obtain a USA visa for training purposes when required. Key Duties & Responsibilities • Provide field service support at domestic and international customer locations for PAGA and communications equipment, • Perform system-level troubleshooting and fault diagnosis, • Carry out network configuration changes and network troubleshooting, • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all relevant product lines, • Verify and troubleshoot equipment installations in the field, working directly with customers, • Provide depot-based repair services as required, • Deliver technical support via telephone to customers and internal sales teams, • Maintain detailed service notes and log customer issues accurately within the service database, • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed, including completing risk assessments for every trip and uploading documentation to the service database, • Complete service summary reports and obtain customer sign-off before leaving site, • Communicate and formally escalate customer or product-related issues when necessary, • Follow established procedures for time recording and customer invoicing, • Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned Skills, Education & Experience • Empathetic, analytical, and solutions-focused approach to problem solving, • Qualification in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), • Strong understanding of PAGA systems in both onshore and offshore environments, • Proven knowledge of VoIP products and network-based system setup, • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT networking, including network integration, • High level of computer literacy, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Strong telephone manner with confidence engaging directly with customers, • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematic drawings, • Calm and professional communication style, particularly in high-pressure situations, • Full, valid driving licence, • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on rotations of up to 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off, • Ability to obtain and maintain onshore and offshore certifications and relevant medical certification
