Mller H&S 13 Month Industrial Placement Opportunity 2026 - MMI Business Unit: Mller Milk and Ingredients Industry: FMCG Role: 13-Month Health and Safety Intern Location: Droitwich, Worcestershire Start date: July 2026 Salary: £25,000 Role Details As a Health & Safety placement student at Mller, you'll play a key role in identifying and implementing improvements to the services provided by the Site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) function. This opportunity will help you develop your analytical and problem-solving skills while making a meaningful impact on site culture. You'll support the development and implementation of the site's Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) plan, aligned with Mller's strategic goals. By promoting a positive EHS culture, you'll help guide the business in maintaining legal compliance and fostering a safe, inclusive working environment. Key skills and qualifications include: Support HSE Systems: Assist in managing the Site HSE management systems, providing valuable support to colleagues and helping to streamline processes across the Mller business Collaboration for Continuous Improvement: Work with dept. heads and front-line management to identify continuous improvement opportunities in on our site, both for immediate (tactical) and future (strategic) enhancements. Operational Support: Provide functional support in priority areas, including monitoring KPIs, reporting, statistical analysis, and performance tracking. Site Improvement Project: Lead impactful projects based on sites identified needs and demonstrate tangible improvements. Innovation and Problem-Solving: As part of a small, collaborative team, bring forward new ideas ad solutions that can positively impact the business Professional Development: Interns will also gain accredited Safety and Environmental qualifications during the programme, equipping them with a solid foundation for a future career in health, safety, and sustainability. Who Should Apply? Mller are looking for confident students with enthusiasm, drive and IT awareness for this 13-month placement. Key Skills and Qualifications Include: Clear and respectful communication skills: Both written and verbal. The ability to express ideas effectively, listen actively, and tailor communication to different audiences and contexts Resilience under Pressure: Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment Passion for Sustainability: A genuine interest in sustainability, supported by practical experience Initiative and teamwork: Capability to work independently and collaboratively Organisational skills: Effective time management and high attention to detail Strong numeracy and analytical skills: Making data-driven decisions to solve problems efficiently Technical proficiency: Competence with Microsoft office and digital tools UK Driving License: Must hold a full UK driving licence for at least one year UK Residency: Eligibility to work in the UK (Please note this role is not eligible for sponsorship as the salary falls below the required threshold.) Foreseeable Outcomes & Strategic Value While site-level turnover in safety roles is typically low, this is not the case across the wider Mller group. By developing an intern at Droitwich - our largest operational site - we are equipping them with exposure to complex, high-volume safety operations. This experience will place them in strong contention for future HSE roles across the business, when opportunities arise.
