Job Description Shelter Intern Position Summary: The Shelter Intern will assist in client intakes, action plans, and daily shelter operations. This role offers hands-on experience in case management while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Assist with client intakes and developing action plans., • Support shelter operations, including cleanliness and client routines., • Answer the Domestic Violence Hotline and provide referrals., • Maintain client records and document services., • Cross-train with Front Desk Reception for shift support., • Basic understanding of crisis intervention and trauma informed care., • Familiarity with domestic violence issues., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet research, and database use., • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and a compassionate attitude., • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods., • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds., • Ability to climb stairs when necessary.
