American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/13/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a 16-bed Cardiovascular ICU treating critically ill cardiac and multi-organ failure patients, • Patient population includes sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, post-cardiac arrest, respiratory failure/shock, and advanced cardiac device cases (Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, ECMO), • Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2, with possible 1:1 for high acuity Impella cases, • Night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, three 12-hour shifts per week, • Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required, • Epic EMR experience required, • Floating to other units within skillset may be required, • RN candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility, • Responsibilities include complex critical care nursing, advanced device management, and care for patients with multiple organ dysfunction, • Will participate in infection prevention, wound vac care, emergency response, and use of PPE, • Work within a multidisciplinary team with 24/7 provider coverage and strong support for family communication and post-operative rehabilitation, • Scrub attire must be navy blue and white, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • All requests for time off or special scheduling must be submitted during application\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NY State RN license required at time of submission, • Minimum 1 year of CVICU or similar critical care experience, • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, • Experience with arterial and central line management, PICC lines, blood product administration, ventilator management, and cardiac devices (Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, ECMO), • Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKG, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, and ABG interpretation, • Prior experience with Epic EMR required\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
