Job Description Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing North is currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Laser / Turret Press Operator to join our sheet metal manufacturing team. As a Laser / Turret Press Operator, you will be responsible for setup, operation, and adjustment of CNC laser cutting machines and/or automated turret punch presses to produce high-quality precision metal components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read technical blueprints, and a commitment to maintaining strict safety and quality standards on the production floor. About Us: Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing has specialized in medium- to high-volume contract metal stamping, progressive die stamping, and CNC machining since 1970. Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing specializes in both deep-draw and progressive die stamping. We are equipped with man servo, high-speed, mechanical, and hydraulic stamping presses ranging from 30 to 400 tons. Our machines are optimized for automation with in-die contact and non-contact sensors. We are also experts in secondary put-and-take operations for parts that cannot be completed in a progressive die. Additionally, we have multiple 5-axis Emmegi XT extrusion milling centers with a bed capacity of 30 feet, plus turrets, lasers, and more. Position Overview • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting systems and/or turret punch presses according to job specifications and production schedules., • Load and unload raw metal sheets (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.) onto the machine bed manually or using overhead cranes/forklifts., • Select and install proper tooling, nozzles, and lenses; adjust machine parameters such as gas pressure, power settings, and focal points for optimal cutting/punching., • Perform prescribed maintenance as required., • Perform all dimensional inspections., • Accurately track production quantities, material usage, and time on the job routers., • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor., • Strong understanding of sheet metal materials, thicknesses, and cutting characteristics, • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and process optimization, • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, • Effective communication and teamwork abilities Total Compensation Package: • Wage, • $20.00 - $25.00 per hour., • Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience., • Benefits - We recognize the value of a comprehensive benefits package and work vigorously to ensure our package meets the needs of our employees and their families.
