Job Description WorkFit Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radioactive materials under the direction of an authorized physician. The technologist ensures patient safety, quality imaging, and compliance with all regulatory requirements while providing compassionate and professional patient care, primarily for adult outpatients (16 years and older). Key Responsibilities • Review patient history and physician orders., • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and the exam to ensure understanding and cooperation., • Position patients and perform imaging procedures., • Ensure proper imaging techniques are used, considering the patient’s age, ability to understand the procedure, sensory needs (sight, hearing), and cooperation level, to achieve high-quality images., • Review patient information and interpret data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific to age-related needs and provision of care., • Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with the applicable scope and standards of practice, as well as the policies, values, and mission of the organization., • Primarily perform adult outpatient procedures (patients 16 years and older)., • Prepare, calculate, and administer radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures., • Operate nuclear medicine equipment, including gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT systems., • Monitor patients during imaging for any adverse reactions or complications., • Maintain accurate documentation of radiopharmaceutical use, doses, and disposal per regulatory standards., • Ensure compliance with safety and radiation protection protocols for patients, staff, and self., • Maintain and calibrate equipment, report malfunctions, and coordinate repairs as needed., • Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with CT Certification and NYS Rad Tech License, • BLS (American Heart Association), • MUST have CT Certification NMTCB- CT or ARRT-CT, • 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine required, 2 years of Nuclear Medicine preferred., • PET/CT training and licensure required, but will consider candidates who have not professionally conducted PET/CT scans, • Will consider candidates while they’re pending their NYS license – must be able to obtain prior to start., • DAY schedule with NO HOLIDAYS OR WEEKENDS, • Paid sick time, • On the job training with premium team, • TAX FREE Travel and Lodging Stipends (for travel applicants only)
